Melancholy 20P (72.7×53cm) Made by Matabei Goto

The painting depicts a man, and his facial expression gives the impression of deep thought and inner conflict. 

A small bird is perched on top of his head, and this bird seems to nestle into the man's loneliness and comfort him. The presence of small birds symbolizes a little encouragement and sympathy from the natural world, adding a warm feeling to the work.

In the background, a quiet seashore is depicted with a shining full moon, and small boats and people can also be seen. The full moon is reflected on the water surface, creating a mystical atmosphere. This night view harmonizes with the man's emotions and brings tranquility and mystery to the work.
